In a Washington Reuters article written back on December 25th and titled "Worms Infect More Poor Americans Than Thought" it becomes clear to see that the intestinal parasite problem is indeed quite widespread. The article reports that recent studies do clearly show that many poor Americans are victim to some type of parasitic infection.

Quoting a one expert, Dr. Peter Hotez of George Washington University, the article says that parasite infections have been largely ignored by many health experts in the US. The implication is that the issue has been ignored is because it only affects the poor.

The article goes on to say that CDC has found that about 14 percent of the American population is infected with Toxocara Roundworms which are usually passed on by either cats or dogs to people.

The problem is a very real one and appears to be on the increase which is way a regular colon cleanse program will not only help to reduce the incidence of parasitic infection but will also reduce the amount of toxic substances in the human body. Today, more than ever, we are living in a highly toxic environment and that is why a good detoxification of the body once or twice a year is not such a bad idea.
